President Bola Tinubu has boasted of his exploits as Nigerian President, saying his administration has successfully stopped the smuggling of oil.

Tinubu also boasted that his government has put a stop to chasing of forex papers at the Central Bank of Nigeria, stressing that all these were achieved after inheriting a near bankrupt economy.

The President said this on Thursday, when he met with Nigerian citizens living in Saint Lucia.

He promised to resolve some of the diplomatic issues raised by Nigerians living in the Caribbean nation.

His words, “We inherited a country that was near bankruptcy. But we have been able to rescue the economy. Nigeria has recovered. We have made the smuggling of our oil unattractive. We have stopped chasing forex papers at the Central Bank of Nigeria”.

Tinubu admitted that although Nigeria’s per capita income is low, his administration is working to improve it.

Tinubu met with Nigerians at the official residence of Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre, and repeated the interaction again at the Windjammer Resort, his abode during his state visit.

The interaction was facilitated by the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

She said NIDCOM is proud of what Nigerians contribute to Saint Lucia and hopes they will remember home.
